John G. Haggerty — Managing Partner
John has worked with Argus since 1986. During the period, he has participated or led many turnaround efforts as CEO, COO or CFO of a variety of companies. In addition to participating in various turnarounds, John has provided financial advisory services related to acquisitions, divestitures, equity placements and financial restructurings.
Specific engagements have included the following:
Noble Environmental —A leading renewable energy company with approximately 850 megawatts of wind parks developed and owned. Served as Chief Operating Officer with responsibility for completing projects and negotiating various contracts, change orders and claims with subcontractors.
Harold M. Pitman Company — Serving as Chief Restructuring Officer and assumed all responsibilities of CEO of $600 million distributor to the printing industry. Oversaw successful sale of company and preservation of 500 jobs.
The Napier Co. — $70 million jewelry manufacturer and distributor. Served as interim President/CEO, leading turnaround over a three year period.
Cornerstone Brands — Holding company of 6 catalog retailers with sales totaling $400 million. Served as Interim CFO during company’s restructuring.
Great Northern Paper — $200 million paper mill. Represented company in the sale of the company.
Gitman Brothers Shirt Co. — Served as interim CFO and COO at this high-end shirt manufacturer during turnaround.
La Petite Academy — $400 million daycare provider. Served as Interim CFO during building of corporate infrastructure including implementation of necessary financial controls.
DeVlieg-Bullard Inc. — $120 million publicly trade manufacturer. Served as Chief Executive Officer during sale of company.
Education
John attended Boston College and majored in Accounting. He is also a Certified Public Accountant.
